2. Open up traffic ways. (Allowing at least 3' for comfortable passage.)
3. Reduce the amount of furniture in a room. Remember home buyers are buying space not furnishings.
4. Place furniture groupings around the focal point a room. (Placing your sofa opposite the focal point will set the rooms anchor, everything else will revolve around that).
5. Use furniture placement to guide the eye and to support and strengthen architectural features.
6. Use furniture that is in proper scale with the room and also well proportioned with the other pieces in the room.
7. Do not block a great view with furnishings.
8. Pull furniture away from the walls. Contrary to popular belief pulling furniture away from the walls often makes a room look larger rather than smaller.
Other furniture placement tips:
Start with the largest piece of furniture. - Conversational groupings should not be larger than a 10' radius to avoid shouting. If your room is larger use more than one grouping.
- Allow 50 to 100 inches between the sofa and side chairs.
- Place coffee tables approximately18" in front of a sofa.
- Allow at least 24" between the bed and the wall and 36" at the foot of the bed.
- In the dining room allow for 24" of elbow room between diners, a 20" seating depth plus 16' to scoot back the chair back from the table and 46" between the wall and dining table.

Thanks for sharing those tips. That information would really help sellers increase their selling chances.
